The Difference Between Management & Leadership
To Be Clear: We “manage” stuff and things such as budgets, facilities, equipment, paperwork, training calendars, and inventory. The ego requires everyone to “keep the numbers up.” The ego is eager and willing to sacrifice others - including the mental and physical health of employees, family relationships, job satisfaction, customer satisfaction, quality, and the long-term strategic advantage of the organization … all for the appearance of short-term gain.
There Is A Difference! We “lead” people. The spirit within an organization’s culture finds value in quality, finds honor in inspiring the hearts and minds of team members to reach their full potential, and is dedicated to the long-term viability of the organization and the humanity of everyone involved.
Know the difference.
Lead like you mean it.
Better yet, Adult like you mean it.
